C. R. ZRNA is an author, illustrator, artist, and voice actress who has spent the last fourteen years building the world of The Legend of Æ.

The idea began on a flight home to Dallas after a week in Los Angeles, where she had the chance to experience the behind-the-scenes magic of a real film set. Somewhere above the clouds, scenes, characters, creatures, and an entire world began unfolding in her imagination. She spent the next three days outlining all three books—and then started writing.

Cynthia grew up living between Japan and America, and that experience shaped the way she sees stories, art, and the world around her. She has always loved the fusion of Eastern and Western culture—the contrast, the beauty, the traditions, and the unexpected ways they can come together. That influence naturally finds its way into the worlds, characters, imagery, and ideas she creates.

Since then, through falling in love, marriage, motherhood, and all the adventures of real life, she has continued returning to Æ, piecing together its histories, mysteries, characters, and stories.

Her writing blends fantasy, mystery, suspense, and heart, exploring identity, family, truth, love, and hope—while creating stories that feel both familiar and unlike anything readers have seen before.
